Overview

Mitchell McCabe is a menswear store in South Melbourne, full of character: bright clothing, a Union Jack mannequin, a vintage typewriter, garden gnomes and a wall of colourful socks.


What they wanted

Images that capture the atmosphere and personality of the shop, to be made into postcards. The focus was on the shop rather than the clothing, so the images wouldn't date with a particular season or trend.

They also wanted separate photos of individual items from the shop, such as a toy robot and a vintage soccer ball, to use as artwork on t-shirts for a new clothing line.


What I delivered
  • Detail images from around the shop: the displays, vintage pieces and small touches that give it its character
  • A selection of images for the shop's postcards
  • Product photos of individual pieces, including the toy robot and the vintage soccer ball, for the t-shirt designs


The outcome
  • A library of timeless images of the shop that won't date with the seasons
  • Product images ready to use as artwork for the new clothing line
